Wow! We are two weeks in to our summer reading program and I am amazed at all the reading going on around me! I thought that I would update everyone on how much has been read:
FIZZ BOOM READ - 15204 pages / 485 books (10 BINGO cards turned in) SPARK A REACTION - 109 books LITERARY ELEMENTS - 91 books The participants in FIZZ BOOM READ have the option of counting pages or books. The two programs that we have had for FBR have been the McWane Center and Bubble and Squeak. Go to our Facebook page to look at pictures of the programs both have been so much fun. Spark a reaction has launched rockets and created art using a chemical reaction (powdered paint and vinegar). Hope Trent won an Itunes gift card in the teen program and Jamie Broadus was the first winner of a goody bag in the adult program. We will draw again this Friday for another gift card and goody bag. Next week DeWayne Reynold of DRMagical Balloons will be here. He does an amazing storytelling program with balloon costumes that he creates. We will need plenty of volunteers to act in the stories so let me know if you want to participate. The teens will be building catapults and testing them out next week. Remember there will be no program the week of July 4th. Have a safe and happy Fourth of July and don't forget the Big Kaboom on July 3rd.
